I don't know how much you know about the program, but I can tell you what I know. After my grandma had cancer, she suggested the idea for me to go to school to be an X-Ray Tech. In most major cities you will start off at $25/hr. Once you have completed your core education classes in college (English, Math, Science, Sociology, etc.), your school might also have additional requirements before you can apply for the program. I tried to apply at one school last year, but didn't get in. 355 people applied for 35 spots. That's in the Chicago area, I don't know what it will be like by you. The way they figure out if you have made it or not is by scoring. An "A" is 3 points, a "B" is 2 points, etc. They take the people with the most points first, so the idea is to have great grades before you apply. I plan on applying to several different schools this year, to up my chances. Usually the program itself will start in the fall, its two years including summer classes. You will probably need to apply around February, or at the latest, March. I've talked to a few X-ray techs, who all say that if you like people, the job will be a good fit for you. Its a constant revolving door of faces, as long as you are good with small talk, you will enjoy your job. Also, as far as the schooling, I'm in the middle of Anatomy and Physiology right now, which isn't easy as long as you have the time to commit to studying. Let me know if you have any more questions.
