Birthday cake is in the oven

It is the milk bar birthday cake from Christina Tosi's "All About Cake" baking book. I've made her birthday layer cake many times and it is very good (though a lot of work). For Friday's work BBQ I liked the idea of turning the cake into truffles coated in melted white chocolate, vanilla milk soak, and "birthday sand" which adds a crunchy element. The cake recipe is the same as usual so I already had all of the ingredients on hand. I have everything else I need for the other 3 components too. If I can at least get the cake done today then I'll be ahead of the game but I'd like to do the birthday sand too. It is just a matter of running the stand mixer bowl and paddle through the dishwasher. For this particular recipe I needed grapeseed oil, rainbow sprinkles, and clear vanilla extract--none of which are common ingredients to have on hand. After baking her recipes for years I now also always have on hand citric acid and glucose syrup on any given day. Yeah baking her stuff is always an adventure.
