How I doubled my mylot earnings with half the posts

Well, I made about twice as much yesterday as I have on previous days and yet I posted about half as many comments. Here's what I did differently: 1) I stopped thinking about the number of posts and making money and tried to just comment on things I felt strongly about. This tended to increase the length and quality of my posts. 2) I rated lots of comments. 3) I posted several pictures. 4) I reported several people for doing things like copying and pasting other people's replies. I have no idea if this affected my earnings or not. I think the most important thing was number 1. When you are posting from your heart about something you feel passionately about your posts will have the quality mylot is looking for. It seemed to make a big difference. I have a feeling rating people helps too.

I did not know how to rate post, or even that you could. I wish I knew that before. I will rate you and see how it works ok.

I really agree with you. I am trying to post where I feel passionate and have things to say rather than simply one word answers. We'll see if this gets me anywhere.

Oh, another thing I forgot to mention. I tagged every comment I left yesterday.

You're right, i've been doing the same thing, and found my posts to be longer and of better quality. The topics were of better quality too, and gave more to the discussions than just a yes/no answer. If my lot members keep this up, we'll all make great money and enjoy what we do at the same time!

I think since the change for My Lot they are looking at content and quality more than quantity of post. I have always done these things but I did not make very much money everyday. Now I do the same things I have always done and I receive higher pay for my efforts. I try to start at least 1-2 good discussion, I also go back and reply to my old discussions' post, I have always give a rating to people who post on my discussions and now I am beginning to turn in those people that are trying to cheat My Lot. I do not know if turning in cheaters is giving me anything or not but I do know it is giving me the satisfaction of knowing I am watching out for My Lot. I was having a lot of trouble posting to every new discussion so I decided from the beginning if I didn't have an opinion I would not post. Now I am glad I did. My post are always over 3 sentences. If I only have 1 or 2 words to say I move on to the next discussion until I find one I like. Thank you for your insight.

Yes, beautiful ceiling, you have to wonder if some people even read the original discussion question. This person has tons of points, I wonder how the earnings match up to them...

Thanks for the information. I also think its got more to do with the length and quality of the of the posts you sent, not so much the other things.

This is my first post to MyLot and your's is the first discussion i'm reading. Your 4 points are the essence of any community and i will keep them in my mind all the time. We all want to make money no doubt. But if the one and only aim is to make money the quality of things we do naturally deteriorates. We can see this in all walks of life. I personally feel that people who cheat their way through anything are losing the joy of being genuine and original. I wish that spammers and cheaters get teleported to the pluto instantly.

For me it has never been about the money you can earn here, though of course it helps.I have always only responded to discussions I had an opinion on so that my responses were worth giving, and haven't wasted my time on topics that only require a one or two word answer.I have noticed the increase in copy/pasters in most topics now and always report them. There is nothing worse than making a response to a topic and then seeing it stolen by someone who just wants to make a quick buck.I have noticed an increase in my earnings too, great job mylot!

Thats true. Since the mylot message alert I too am concentrating on posting a comprehensive response to discussions that I find interesting. Offcourse the number of discussions I reply to has come down still I feel good writing. Its more interactive now than the ususal yes and no posts. I rate the discussions too.

I havn't been doing this very long but I only post to ones that interest me and where I have something to say. Some are not even worth my time or effort.

I agree its definately been more profitable on Myot. However in the last 48 hours the yLot server has been extremely slow, and I am not getting the posts at the rate I would like to. Hav you also experienced this?

I think if you start a discussion and get lots of responses that helps. I'm not sure how much good it does to start discussions that don't get comments. Sorry I couldn't give you a better answer.

I also want to ask if you get more for starting discussions. I am trying to think of a good topic to discuss but haven't yet. I am enjoying participating in the discussions that are already going on.
