My youngest son was lifting his own head when he was in the hospital still. He was pulling himself up by my thumbs at around 2/3 mths old. At around 5 mths old I got brave and decided to test my little strong man theory and waited til he grabbed on to the shower curtain rod and let go...well...he hung there. for about 2.5 mins, all by his lonesome, 5 mths old. i was shocked, i called my sister-in-law in to take a picture while i hovered underneath him incase his arms gave out. but they never did, i ended up taking him down on my own. am i crazy, or is that odd? lol

aww aint that cute lol well i think its down to a fear thing or natural instinkt as that if they think they will fall they will hold on and tight :p but dont get me wrong they have to be strong to hold on that long and also be slightly over average to know to this that early on :p
I have 3 children but my first was a strong baby he was on solid food yeh i mean he ate what we at by the time he was 5 months and he had all of his teeth then to. He could also lift himself up onto things by the time h was 6 months but yet he took untill he was just over 1 year to walk :p i guess its down to what they develope first :P
I really like the picture though its so cute lol

lol, thank you. i wanted to share it with the world!! i love it too. my little boo boo austin. he, like you said, was eating with us early on, hungry man. he often drags his 2 year old sister around the livingroom. granted she's 3 and weighs 21 lbs and he's 11 mths and weighs 22 BUT can't say they lack individuality!

I have to tell you that picture is too cute, but also freaks me out a little, thankfully you were underneath him. My littlest is 9 months and he is a bruiser. He knocks his three year old sister over all the time then crawls right over her. He is so tough, he never cries when he falls or gets a bump, he just keeps trying to go.

lol, in the larger verison of the photo my arms are right underneath of his legs and i'm leaning back. no worries, i would never push him past his own limits. my original thought was that he wouldn't even grip onto it. it was an amazing moment, that picture just reminds me of what an amazing little man he is.

Wow, that's AMAZING. My daughter wasn't very strong at all when she was born. She didn't start holding her head up until she was about a month and a half old, and she didn't start to lift herself up on her arms while she was on her tummy until she was about 5 months old. I hear that boys are usually stronger that girls, but WOW is your son strong. That's insane. I love the pic!

i feel u r crazy to let ur kid hang that way - its not only abt him falling down, this might strain his tender arms and shoulders as they are very delicate leading to some complications, he's a baby not a toy..that was very irresponsible
