I recently just watched this movie with my kids. I would love to hire Nanny Mcphee, but she's not on any ones books...she is a government nanny (whatever that is). This movie stars Emma Thompson (she is Nanny Mcphee), who is not only the star and who the movie is mostly based on, but she also wrote the screenplay based on the Nurse Matilda books by Christiana Brand. I'm not going to tell you all about the movie, so not to spoil it for those who haven't seen it. I think it is a wonderful fairytale story, and also teaches kids a lesson or two...5 lessons for sure...(although it didn't make my children any better by watching it!!) Nanny Mcphee comes to help Mr. Brown, who is a widow, with his 7 children, who are very very naughty and have "gotten rid of the rest of the previous Nanny's". Nanny Mcphee teaches everyone a thing or two. When you need her but dont want her she will stay....when you no longer need her but want her..she has to go! I really like this and I'm considering buying it for my collection, a good, humorous movie for all to enjoy!

I liked that too, especially when the cake fight happened and the mean lady Mr. Brown was going to marry got smashed with cake....that was beautiful!!! Another of my favorite parts was at the beginning when the nanny ran out of the house, screaming "They've eaten the baby", those naughty, clever kids were actually eating chicken legs with pink booties attatched!!!

I have heard of the movie but have never seen it. It sounds like it might be something I would like. I just joined a dvd club so hopefully it is out on dvd.

Yes it is out on DVD, I think it came out last month. I never have the priveledge of going to the theatre to see a movie, infact the last one I seen was either Donnie Brasco or Save the Last Dance...but that was the last time I went to the theatre!!! All the movies I watch come free renting from the library!

I can not tell you how many times we have already watched and enjoy it each and everytime!
But I too think I need to hire Nanny McPhee. So if for some reason you should have the government send her to your house, please be sure that when her 5 lessons are learn to send her to me! Thanks!!!

THE PERSON I NEED IS NANNY MCPHEE...I'm probably the next in line to have her sent to my house, my kids have watched this now so many times I've lost count, and when I tell them to turn it off please, and go to bed....LOL...they dont listen, so I turned it off and said, "You haven't learned a thing from this movie, huh, your not going to bed when your told", and they really lack on saying please and thank you! I'll be sure to send her your way if I get the privledge of meeting her!!! You should read the Nurse Matilda books to your kids, I have and they are great, they loved them too!

I saw Nanny McPhee a few months back and loved it. I cried at the end and really enjoyed how the movie played out. Another one to watch if you haven't already seen it is "The Legand of Narnia" . I enjoyed that one alot also.
