What do you think happens to your soul after your physical body shuts down?

This is assuming you believe in an afterlife and that human beings possess a soul.Personally, I think that the human soul is trapped in a physical body that limits human experiences and knowledge. Our five senses limit our ability to understand the world. When we die perhaps our souls are free of limitation and can experience the world as it truly is. When people describe heaven as full of light, this could be because humans can only see a small portion of the light spectrum and when you are free of your body, you(your soul) can experience all light (as well as all forms of matter and energy). What do you think?

I believe you either go to heaven or hell. The people that have been saved, that has asked God to forgive them of there sins and try to live for Him, go to heaven when they die to live with Christ forever.

According to Quantum Theory, we become part of the "Unified Field". Which basically means that we become one with the universe. I would say that science agrees with your statements, our physical body does limit our ability to see the world around us. If you want a better understanding of this, rent the movies "What The Bleep Do We Know?" and "Down The Rabbit Hole". I guarantee you'll like them!

I just not only think but it's my undaunted believe that soul will be sntch out from our body and it will liable for all those deed whick we have done in our life good deed rewards good and bad deed rewards bad to u. on that day ur each part will have ability to talk if you had seen something wrong eye will say that if you did something good with ur hand ur hand will evidence 4 ur good deed and same will be followed with each part of ur body.

I believe your body is buried and your soul goes to heaven...other's believe you could be trapped here on earth unable to move on...however I am really hoping the first is true....because I would not want my soul in the wrong place or trapped here on earth...unable to move on...

understanding , even trying to understand this concept is beyond the common man's level. What i feel instead of searching for that live happily and peacefully before physical body shuts down.

i think our soul will either go to hell or to heaven when we die. i'm a catholic and that is what my religion believes in. it's up to the person if he/she lives in his/her earthling life the good way. whatever happens when we die, i'll leave it all to God. ^^

when we die and become mere souls, we lose our senses. because these senses will only work with the human body. but we still do have our intellect, we just don't have physical contacts.

I believe in reincarnation, that I will have a better life if I am good.

They would create a future for themselves where indeed, nothing happens. That could go on for as long as time exists I suppose. But eventually the Universe turns and those who exist in a nothing space would eventually be woken up and kicked out of it.
I'm beginning to suspect there are different stages of dying Cosmo. For some, it might be necessary to 'hang around' for a while, trying to untangle themselves from what kept them bound up during life, which is what will keep them tied to this very earthy plane. I'm beginning to suspect there are levels of dying that are quite attached to this earth plane and reality. Whether or not one experiences them, depends much on how you've lived your life and your beliefs. What you expect, you're going to get.
I've even read some out-of-body-experiences where people have visited 'heaven'. Its a place and it does indeed exist - created by the mass consciousness that believes in it. This particular traveller visited it for a while, found it all rather boring so left and went tripping around the Universe! (Sounds like MUCH more fun to me!)
If every thought ever 'thunk' was/is indeed a creation, then there's a lot of 'creation' to navigate before we reach our destination. Our powers of navigation depend on what we perceive.
As for what ties us to this earth plane - I think there are many things - love, addictions, trauma, grief. There would be many reasons many of us can't let go.
Strangely enough, 'The Sixth Sense' is on the TV, and I'm going to watch it...

i was thought 3 ways: my dad: he says that afterlife we are going to go to different bodies, my grandma: she says that we will be sleeping until god comes from heaven and is going to wake us up making us look beautiful, my cousin: she says its a mystery
