You can rate people's responses. I give a positive to people who are really contributing and offering useful and insightful discussion. I neg the ones who are abusing the system, giving one-word answers or "I don't know" to every post. I believe these ratings help myLot decide how much to pay for each comment and I think it also increases the amount you earn when you rate others. Same thing for best response. When you start a new topic you can choose the best response to boost that person's (and presumably your own) earnings.
