Sometimes when parents treat one kid with favoritism but they still show you lots of love its because they feel sorry for the other one or they dont think he can accomplish as much as you can. Sometimes its guilt for not loving him as much as they love you so they feel guilty and so they will treat him better.

we both lived at home, and we both lost our father, and she only felt sorry for him? I guess this is the part, cause she is my step mother, but raised me since i was 2. I guess that saying blood is thicker than water.. right

Honestly, you are the responsible older sibling and the youngest always gets the easiest ride. I don't know what the age difference is but if it is big, many parents are too tired to be as strict with the younger sibling. Just wait until you have kids, man will you see a huge differnce in how you were raised and how they treat the grandkids. My son gets away with all kinds of things my brother and I were not allowed to do.

We are 7 years apart... And too tired would be, yah with my son.. But even still she is more on his butt than my brothers.
I moved around the corner , to be close to mom... I would be sick, she will call me and want to know why I am not at work, knowing my brother at 22 23 living in her house, not working, is laying in bed sleeping.. WTF

Hmmm same as me, my brother got away with everything, i guess it is because if you are the first child then everything is new to the parent and i know sometimes i tend to overreact to the things my oldest does, and then when the younger one does it i am prepared for it and i dont overreact to it anymore, so i guess that could be the answer!!!
