We just down size to a bit smaller aparmtent and do not really have room for a tree anywhere in our home. My son is trying to talk me in to getting one though. I just can't find the room anywhere in the house. I told him to go by his grand mothers and she would share her tree. We didn't have a tree last year and it didn't bother him. Anyone else having a similiar issue?

We have a tree thi syear. ONly because someone bought it for us. WE didn't have one last year as when we moved 1200 miles. That was something that had to be left behind. We had no money at Christmas time to buy a new one. There was another time we did not have a Christmas tree. What we did was get a Christmas table cloth...decorate the table by hanging stuff from the side. ...and we had what we called a Christmas table.

You should get a tree anyway. Christmas is so commercialized anyone can celebrate it.

I can see why your son would feel "different" for now having a christmas tree.
We have made this "little" tree that is really easy to make and might at least help him feel he has a tree
I hope to get the directions up for it soon, but the scanner needs to be rehooked up first and I can't even show you the picture of the little tree because I am on the laptop and its on the regular computer lol

I looked at small tress in a few different stores and they all look like the Charlie Brown tree. We have never had a tree in the house, we have always spent Christmas at my moms, aunt or he has gone out of town to his other grandparent all of which had a tree. Last year we had just moved back to new orleans and we getting adjusted to a new place. This year I think is the first year he feels like he has a real "family" to spend Christmas with.

Yea I don't like those kind of trees
this is just a teeny tiny one you make with garland, wire hangers, lights, & black tape
Here is the link from my post about it a few days ago :)

Not sure if we can afford a tree this year, but I know that the real meaning of Christmas will not be in presents or food or trees but in sharing the love of the Christ Child with my family and friends. You know, you can always buy a small tree to place on a coffee table if you really want to have one. We have gone several years without a tree and it never bothers my children because we can always enjoy other people's. My son likes to put the lights up outside, and his brothers decorate inside the house with garlands around the windows and doors.
It's not the THINGS of Christmas that matter. It really is the love and message of Christ the Newborn King we need to share with family and friends.

I really don't like the small trees, I think they are tacky. I will buy one if he keeps bugging me though. I keep telling him to go to his grandmothers house because she always has a tree.

We did not have a tree this year, but we do not have kids. It was mostly because we just were not in the mood this year. Sometimes we want to, sometimes not. I love the trees but sometimes they are a hassle to deal with.

Well I don't have any kids but we have lots of kids around always in and out of my trailer. I try to be there for my family and sometimes babysit alot so I try to have a tree for them. And I am always having to move my furniture around and usually end up moving something out of the room to be able to place my 6 ft tree outit does my heart good to see there eyes light up and like the compliments. But this year I am not wanting to move my furniture around and put up the bug tree so me and my hubby talked and we have agreed to get a 2-3ft tree and decorate it and set it on our table which you can see clearly from the front room. But maybe he can have a small 2-3ft tree in his room that would make it feel really special for him and I bet excited to have his own little tree. He could watch the little lights flickering as he drifts to sleep. And the small trees aren't to expensive you can get them for a few dollars and decorating his room too would be special. well I hoped this helped some. And that you find a sloution ot your problems. God Bless!

Well we have a small apartment and have no room for a big tree either.I didn't have one last year as well but I didn't feel bad or anything.
I don't think I will have it this year either because I just simply don't have a time to put the tree up and also the room isn't that big enough for it.
