I love Gone with the Wind, the book and the movie, although I love the book more. I have always been fascinated by the fact that the first line of the book is "Scarlett O'Hara" was not beautiful." I love the concept of someone with such charm that people seldom noticed that she wasn't gorgeous.
There's a wonderful documentary about the making of the movie that I taped one time off of Turner Classic Movies. They ran it and the movie and I put both on a tape and I'll watch both periodically. The making of documentary is really cool because it was such a troubled production and yet such a fabulous movie. I would highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.
I periodically feel the need to read the book again too. In fact, it's been a while. Now that I'm thinking about it I might just have to go pull out that paperback again!

I have read it and also seen the movie. I enjoyed both, and especially fell in love with Vivien Leigh (I wasn't even born when the movie was made, but I saw it during my early teens, I think by then Vivien must be in her late 40's or early 50's).

I have a paperback copy somewhere or the other and after participating in this and another discussions on this feel the urge to find it and reread it. I must have read it over 20 years ago.

Yes, I have read the book and watched the movie.. I had to for school... I however do not rememeber if I enjoyed it or not.... I do remember that the mental feelings and imagery I recieved with the words "Gone with the wind" To me did not match the book of movie, and I felt it should have been titled something else.. but now I do not remember what I would have called it.. - DNatureofDTrain
