I do have some tips that it can be helpful. First of all Before preparing your cake you should take care of some things, every ingredient that you might use that usually is on the refrigirator like the eggs , milk, or margarine should not be cold, try taking taking these ingredients out of the refrigirator a couple of hours before stating your cake or if you forgot try running hot water on the eggs a few minutes and the milk and margarine put a few seconds on the microwave but it can't be too hot either if it is too hot or too cold it could ruin your cake because it affect the process of the baking powder of rising your cake. The baking powder should be the last thing you put on the cake mixture, your oven should preheated before puting your cake inside that's the second thing you should do before starting you cake. Now once you put your cake on the oven you should not open for at least 20 minutes or it will get flat in front of your eyes. Well I hope it helps, I have made a lot of cakes and everything that could have happened to ruin happened but nothing stopped me in trying to do all over again, to get it right, because I just love cakes! Besides that have fun!

Make sure to measure ingredients accurately. Baking is kind of like a science experiment. If your measurements are off it could ruin the formula. Be sure to grease and flour your pan if you are going to flip the cake out to decorate it. Be sure your oven is preheated before you start mixing your ingredients as you don't want the batter to sit too long before you put the cake in there. Baking soda and baking powder start to work as soon as they mix with the wet ingredients and leaving the batter sit too long before cooking it can cause your cake to fall. Once your cake is in the oven, use your window and light to look at it instead of opening the door. You want to keep your oven temp consistant and opening the door too often changes the oven temp. After the baking time is up use a toothpick in the center of the cake to test to make sure it's done. If the pick comes out clean..it's done. If not, give the cake five more minutes and check it again. Happy baking! :)
