I suffer and have for yrs from major anxiety and over the past few (10 or so) yrs I've found that the best way to deal with it is through aromatherapy and/or (depending) crystal healing....Does anyone else use alternative healing for any reason? Do you use it in combo with medical or on its own? Would yu recommend it to others or have you? Is there any alternative healing that you wouldnt recommend to ppl becuse of a bad experience you had?

I haven't had a bad experiene. I did a Crystal energy mantra meditation circle and it was one of the most positive experiences of my life. I could definately feel the vibrations through my body. When we were finished I was at peace, but also energized. I recommend it to everyone I can.

It's been a little while. I went with a friend to a little one room shop in Safety Harbor. I can't get their website link to work. The guy had a special title... I think it starts with an S. He was a South American Buddhist. We sat in lotus position first and did some mantras. Then we layed on our backs and closed our eyes. We continued some mantras and he came around and put crystals in our hands and on our foreheads and hearts. He touched our bare feet and our heads and our hearts first. Then chimed a gong. And he did a lot of singing bowls. I can't remember all of it and it was more ceremonial than I'm making it sound. I remember how I felt more than anything that was done.

I'm actually an aromatherapist. I like it because as long as you follow a few simple rules its fairly hard to do anything that can damage your body. Additionally, as long as you buy aromatherapy oils that are organic, theres actually 0 chance to be allergic to them. In order to be allergic to something it has to have traces or contain whole proteins, and since organic oils don't contain anythiong other than the oil, there are no proteins to be allergic to. Another nice thing about the oils is that no matter what type of healing modality you learn, they can work with it. For instance lets say you went to medical school for a couple years and have a total faith with pharmyceuticals but are looking for something thats not so strong for lets say asthma. Then you can look at the constiuents (or the things that makes up a particular oils) and find that peppermint contains mainly a substance called menthyl, which opens up the airways and lowers mucous production in most upper respitory cavities. If you are a Chinese trained herbalist than you can use the philosophy of Yin and Yang along with the Five Element Theory to work the nature of the plant into what you need to achieve an energy balance. Aromatherapy is the simpler herbalism, I could go int o more depth on this if you want, but I won't rant unless you want me to :p

OMG! Raven I was just trining wire around these two crystals last night before I went to bed! I had my bf buy me two crystals when my daughter came out to visit for her birthday. I was also going to mail one of them to her for her to wear. I too believe in the healing properties of crystals. I am not sure how they work or if their effects are just phychosomatic but I do know that they work! They dispel bad energies from you and from around you, they protect you, and they have the power to comfort and heal. I love "new age" living. I don't specifically follow a particular religion or ideology. I have simply developed things and beliefs that work for me. And I don't waste my time sitting around trying to debunk and figure out exactly how my God's world works, that would just distract my mind from observing the beauty and symetry of this universe of ours and I just know that there are things that work for some people if they believe.

I do believe in the power of aromatherapy, crystal healing, and stones with energies.
I used to have a Hematite ring to help me remain calm in crowds. If you suffer anxiety, this may be something that you can use.
I carry a malichite stone in my purse to make sure that I always have money for the kids if they need something. My partner even uses it when he interviews for a different job.
Aromatherapy is now being validated by doctors like lavender to calm and soothe one's stresses.
I think once people start to learn that everything holds an energy and can work to help other energies around them (our body and mind), people will start to seek these more natural ways.
However, I do not recommend if you are severely ill, you should seek medical help. Once medications were only used by the wise one's and they were looked at as evil. They were not evil, only knowledgable in the properties of these herbs and roots and such. But once educated, we have a whole new world called medical science.
That is what aromatherpy, crystals and stones are...another science that has not been completely learned to the mass population.
Congrats on have this knowledge!

I love hematite..I find though that my amethyst (my all time fav stone) seems to work wonders in big crowd situations and with my anxiety...I should try hematite though...for money Tigers Eye is the big one here or copper actually..Lavendar I like btu only sometimes...we all have trouble unwinding in this house and peppermint REALLY does the trick LOL I put peppermint in the pot and everyone is ready for bed within 20 mins LOL its actually kind of funny...
As for herbs and roots...I am still learning about those, herbs I'm pretty knowledgable on mainly because I love to garden and with my Pagan background they just all went hand in hand but roots, flowers etc I'm not so good with LOL...having all the property that we do I'd love to really get into it and have a huge garden at some point....

Lavender is a great relaxer actually....its a calming, soothing herb that can be used alone or in combo with other herbs to help with depression...Some use it as a sleeping aid (I have and have used it with the boy as well but we both prefer peppermint)..Vanilla can be used also to calm ones nerves, relax a person but its also a great sensual scent AND IMO its great for self love as well...I'll give you more info in the A.M if you want...

This information is offered here as a service and is not meant to replace any medical treatment. No guarantee is made towards validity. Use this information at your own risk. This is my personal belief on how high quality gemstones work for me. Lorraine V
"All you need to do is tap into the healing power of crystals and your mind will become brighter, your body will become healthier and you will create a happy and rewarding life for you and others around you"
Lynn Claridge SNHS (Crystal Healing)
Crystal healing is an alternative healing technique for strengthening the body and resolving issues and patterns using various forms of natural crystals. The theory is that gemstones carry vibrational rates. By placing these vibrational rates within the aura - your aura's vibrational rates also change. Often the effects are indirect, but very potent. Other times, the effects are very direct and repeatable.
The easiest way to do gemstone therapy is to wear high quality round beads around the neck. Intention strengthens the process, but is not necessary. Metal inhibits the process. If metal surrounds the gemstone, its affects are often greatly reduced (and sometimes eliminated.)
