I always grew up with honest parents, so i think i would do the same. explain to the kid that santa and christmas is really about the spirit of giving without expecting anything in return, and about family and/or close friends being together. not everyone is christian, but christmas still means a great deal to some. i would tell the kid not to spoil it for the other kids though, i remember my mom got in trouble for that with other parents when i was little, until i understood not to say what i knew.

Who said santa wasnt real ? I am heart broken. But isnt santa a spirit of the holiday season? A feeling of family and love? A feeling of tradition. Im 44 years old and still recieve a package that says its from santa.. although his hand writting looks alot like my dads hahaha...

I think it would be best to let him or her find out on their own.
