Why do I have to "DO" something on my trip?

I won a free trip to Jamaica from the radio station I listen to. We're leaving Dec 7th and coming home Dec 10th. We really only have 2 full days there and our plan is to sit on the beach and by the pool and just RELAX. Everyone's telling us we have to go to some falls, we have to go to these shops, make sure we eat at such-and-such a restaurant. People think we're totally nuts because we aren't going to DO anything. Why can't I just go and RELAX for a few days and pretend I don't have any worries???
What would you do on a free vacation????

DONT DO NOTHING, DAWN REALLY JUST RELAX AND ENJOY JUST BEING IN JAMAICA, AND HAVE A LONG ISLAND ICE TEA FOR ME!

If it were my vacation, I'd do exactly what I wanted to do. If people tell you that you have to see this or that, thank them for the suggestion, tell them it sounds interesting, and remind you don't know how much you'll have time to see in only 2 days. If they find fault with that, then find an excuse to walk away.

Thanks, it's really hard to get your point across sometimes when it's different from others. I do usually just say something like "we've already got the trip planned" or "there wont be enough time for that"

It's your vacation, so you certainly can do whatever you want and not listen to others. If it was their vacation then they could decide, but they aren't even going to be there. Enjoy your trip and have fun!

Thanks!! We leave in a couple days and are sooo excited. We got almost everything packed last night - the bathing suits are going in our carry-on in case the luggage gets lost. I'll be on the beach for 3 days!!!

free vacation. I would sit at the beach and drink. Just relax just like you want to. Just do what you want. Don't let anyone decide for you.
