This seems to be a very trendy thing to do these days. Have you seen the TLC show "Flip that house" or something like that? As a professional interior designer, I would strongly advise you to learn as much as you can about this industry before you jump into it. It can be fun and you can make a lot of money, BUT there are tons of things that can go wrong and eat up all your money before you make any. The most important thing to do is know of a very reputable general contractor. There are so many fly-byp-night types that will claim to be experts but can cause you major grief. On the other hand, a competent and loyal contractor will be your best friend as you go through the process. Good luck!
