One way in which Muslims can get over the bad name created as a result of extremist terrorism, is by bringing in and handing over some of their extremist brothers to the authorities.
I agree that most Muslims are calm and quiet. That is how it is in Sri Lanka. In fact when the Taliban destroyed the Bamian Buddah statues it did not create any bitterness against Muslims in Sri Lanka (A Buddisht Country) as the Muslims were in the forefront protesting and petitioning against it.
But I cannot agree that Muslims are hated in America. America is attacking the Taliban, and most the of Muslims in Afganistan are helping America. The Taliban ruthlessly killed fellow Muslims who opposed them. Are the Americans attacking the Muslims in America in an organised manner, or are there gangs like the KKK attacking muslims. Of course at a checkpoint Muslims might be subjected to an extensive search. But is this wrong. Can the authorities check everybody simply to satisfy the ego of Muslim people?

did you mean we provide home for the terrorists?see i am an indian. i am proud to say that i am an indian.if i was able to see a terrorist , then i will surely inform the police about the terrorist.nowadays, there is a situation here,i have to take my identity card to anywhere i am going. even in my college, when the governor was coming, the security person asked me to show my identity card only for the reason i am having a little beard. my friend accompanying me was a hindu(he didnt had beard)who was not asked anything.even after i showed my college id card,he didnt allowed me for 5 min.after pausing a time , he allowed me. i didnt ask to check my friend.i am asking just to leave me after i have shown my id card.its not to show our ego.at that time people around me looked at me with some doubt. u couldnt understand my feeling, unless u face such situation. only the persin who got the beating knows the pain.

The world is full of hate alot of people do not like muslims because of there extremists which cannot be denied i do not hate muslims. Although i seen a show about a mother and a father who were training there son to become a matter which i feel is unfair why teach your family to become suside boomers. this really does not happen much in any other religion bar muslims.

Nobody ever says anything (at least in this country) about Christian extremists. It's extremism that is the problem. Not religion.

Terrorism should be defined by actions, not by race. There are just as many white terrorists as brown. In fact, we have inflicted far more civilian carnage.

According to me not all muslims are terroriest. Infact both christians and muslims fight for peace. But the difference is that few muslims took violence to achieve the goal - peace. This made the people to think that most of the muslims are terrorist.

They hate you out of fear. They don't understand your religion and what it teaches. They only know about it from the stories in the news papers, or what the news broadcasts on the tv. I don't think that all muslims are terrorist, and I don't think that all terrorists are muslims.

the world is a place full of anger... people prefer to judge and fear rather than understand. stereotypes are as old as the world itself and we can' change that... i am a rocker and i too am called name and feared on the streets even if i am very calm and openminded... i am sorry that you, me and many others pass trough this but now i ask you: is there really something we can do?

Some people are ignorant and believe that when one set of people who happen to be a certain race, or religion cause undo and unnecessary harm on innocent people that the whole race or religion is bad. This is a very uneducated and immature response. Not every person of a race or religion is bad, there are those who are and I guess it is just fear that causes people to act the way they do.

The international media has put Islam in a very bad light after the 9/11 terroristic attacks. I don't blame people from being afraid of muslims.
Lets put an example. A group of radical christains make a terroristic attack on muslim groups during the yearly visit to Mecca. Would not muslims be afraid of christians? Would not they consider christians as devils?
It's up to you and other genuine muslims who strive hard to eradicate violence, hate and terrorism from Islam.

The media is extremely nice to Muslims. Political correctness reigns supreme. Its ridiculous. You can't even criticize Islam without being called a bigot. There are loads of things to be criticized but since that is an offense to a Muslim, you can't say it without getting in trouble. I think it is absolutely ridiculous, people should be able to say and think whatever they want about Islam, there is a basis in reality for every stereotype.

ignorance is bliss..and A LOT of people chose to be ignorant because its better for them just to not know. these people are lazy and just won't understand. not all people hate muslims. most people have respect for other religions and people...just a handful of these people have to keep pushing things and making everyone else feel bad. growing up i had friend of different religions and i enjoyed that. they would tell me about their religion and i would learn. to learn is to understand and if you don't take the time to learn about someone eles' religion, then you have no right to be disrespectful towards them

I do not think that all people hate Muslims,so may be a little leary because of all the things that are going on,and the things that have happened to so many families, like the heartbreak of Sept 11.that affect so many people.myslef I do not hate anyone,I may dislike a lot of the things that people say or do,but it is not my place to judge them,I am not the person that they have to answer to in the end.
