My blood pressure has always been low. I had it checked the other day and its lower than usual. As a result I am having vertigo, dizzy spells, and I am not sure what to do. How can I raise my pressure up?

There are several things you can do. When you are exercising your blood pressure goes up, so that's one thing but it won't help on long terms (and it's not a good idea if you are having dizzy spells).
Eating food with a lot of iron in it (like spinache, apple syrup, etc) might also help you out a bit, because most of the people suffering from this also have anaemia.
If you are searching for a short term solution, I say eat or drink something salt. You will feel better, but having too much salt in your diet is bad for your kidneys. If you, however, feel a dizzy spel coming up and you want it to go away, drink some boulion (like the small blocks you use to make soup, you make boulion with these?). They tend to be quite salty but still taste good enough to drink, you will feel better within minutes.
I hope that helps a bit at least :)

Thanks for the advice. I will try the boulion cubes. I like those anyway.

sometimes, low blood pressure indicates anemia (low blood). have your hemoglobin checked first. if your blood levels are indeed below the normal values, you'd probably be advised to take iron supplements to raise them up. maybe, your blood pressure readings will improve, then.
