In this day and age when people are killing our kids, and kids are killing each other i firmly believe that it should be made into a law that all schools be on lockdown when school is in session. Anyone who comes to the school should have to push a buzzer and be on video to gain access to the school ,and also should have to go through a scanner to make sure they have no weapons, i also think every school should have at least 2 armed guards at it. These are our children, for gods sake people, lets protect them the best we can!!! What do you think???

yes but when you can at least make sure that no one outside the school can cause a problem then thats a big chunck of the problem solved!!!

I agree with you. Luckily almost all, if not all schools, around here are locked down during school hours. It does make sense with all that is going on today. Some of the problems are within the school though, so even with lockdown, it's not a perfect ssystem

I agree with you to a certain extent, but I also don't want my kids to feel like they are going into a prison and that no one can be trusted. My friends son goes to a school that has this happen, and he says that everyone there is on pins and needles because they are also taking the same precautions with all the children there, and the ones that are innocent are still looked at with a hawk eye. I think there should be a little mix of both. Don't get too carried away with safety but make sure that there are some. I totally agree about the video camera and guard, but unfortunately many schools cannot afford this.

Yes i know that money is tight at schools however i think that it should be a government funded deal, the government needs to start taking care of it's own people for once. Also my point of a lockdown wasn't so much about the kids as it was about people who arent even in school comming into them and harming our children like what happened a couple months ago, this kind of thing should not happen!!!

I think you are taking this too seriously. Schools are fine just the way they are, and if you do this, the children will feel unsafe with all these safegaurds in place. And they will ask questions like "is our school in lockdown cause we are going to be attacked?" then they will all panic. Also with two armed guards, there are even greater chances of injuries, because what if the armed guards acidentally shoot one of the children. Or one of the children gets one of their weapons?
