I am 32 and some says I am too old to go back to school. I think I am not, and they dont have the right to say that I am too old to get my degree. What do you think? This people I guess are just jealous knowing that some people can go back to school and they can't. What is your comments about this?

You are definitely not too old to go back and get a degree in nursing or anything else. I am 37 and I'm a full time student, I went back to get a degree in business. I have a 51 year old friend who is just entering nursing school in January and she is very excited. Nursing is a great profession and in high demand. Go for it!

First of all, no one is EVER too old to go back to school. There are schools out there are specifically for people over the age of 25 and/or working adults that aren't really the traditional right out of high school college student. Second, 32 is not even close to being old to begin with, let alone going back to school. Before you are 40 you will have a new degree and a new career. Even if you were 40 I would still say go for it ! Learning is a lifelong process and I would encourage no matter how old the person. My 68 year old aunt recently returned to school because she has wanted to all her life but just now has had the opportunity. Conmgratulations, and don't worry about what the others think. It is your life ! Good Luck !

I do not think you are too old to get your nursing degree. In my opinion, It is never to late to learn something and acquire new skills. I do not really see the harm in bettering ones self regardless of age.

I really don't think it matters what age you are if you want to go back to school. I say good for you and I hope you get your degree. I'm 38 and I would love to go back to school if I could only figure out what I want to take. lol

You are never too old to go back to school, I've heard of people gaining degrees in their 80s so 32 is quite young. My cousin is in her final year of nursing degree in the uk and is around your age, maybe a little older. SHe's found it hard work but was determined to get the results. As long as you are physically and mentally able to do what is required then you go for it, and good luck.

You are NEVER too old to go back to school. Learning is for a lifetime, whether your 9 or 109! I went back to school for nursing when I was 29, pregnant with my fourth child, and I just graduated this past August. Don't get me wrong, it was tough, but if I did it, anyone can do it!Good luck to you! I think you're making a great decision! This world needs more caring nurses!

I am 40. I started a nursing program the day after my fortieth birthday! I am not too old! I have half my life ahead of me, and I plan on making it great. My program is LPN. If all goes well, and so far it is, I will be done in August. Then at the end of August, I will school part time for RN in the evenings, while being LPN full time during the day. The only downside at MY school is : you can't work a full time day job AND attend the nursing program. But I work every weekend and through school breaks. So far so good! Good luck.

You should be proud of yourself because not all people have the drive to learn that you have. I know there are millions out there who would die to be in your place. For the few who think that you're too old, leave them be. They're the types who do not realize the importance of learning. People say that acquiring new knowledge is constant, a never-ending learning process. I'm glad you've kept that process alive in you. Goodluck...I know you'll get your nursing license very soon. =)
