I would LOVE to have laser eye surgery! I can't afford it, and I believe that your vision has to remain the same for two years before you qualify for it, and so far, mine hasn't. I just think it would be wonderful to be able to wake up in the morning and see what time it is on my alarm clock without having to fumble for my glasses. I am also scared of the process, because they slice open the top layer of your eyeball in order to get to the part they fix with the lasers, and you are AWAKE the whole time! I'd be more comfortable being put to sleep for it. I don't know if I could handle seeing something coming at my eye, about to cut it open.

I know somebody that had it done but I got sick watching it. So I don't think that I will be getting it done in this life time.

I know several people that have had laser surgery to correct nearsightedness through the Lasik procedure. Is that what you mean? Otherwise I know that eye surgeries have advanced quite a bit these days if it's the kind that is required for a health reason

Same here. I'm very nearsighted and knew some people who had eye surgery when it first came out, more than 10 years ago. Now the techniques are much better, so I'm definitely glad I didn't do it years ago. It's probably keep getting better, safer, and cheaper. And from what I've heard, the surgery can be done by laser or blade, and laser isn't necessarily any better. My eye dr. says the most important factor is the experience of the dr. doing the procedure. Laser sounds cleaner, but in both cases the operation makes slices, neither method is inherently safer than the other.
