I'm starting to get sick of mylot.

Okay.
I have started to post long and good discussions and no one replies.
And people have been asking for you too and don't reply.
I looked at the new discussions.
Their ALL spam.
I look through my friends discussions once again spam.
I can never find a good discussion.
So I have to reply to the spammy ones trying to give as much detail as I can.
I mean I just replied to one asking do you say lol alot.
I'm sorry to whoever posted it but its spam.
I struggled to reply but I said this:
I use it more than it is needed.
Typing lol has become a habit for me.
I've heard it since I started the internet and once I learnt the meaning (Laugh out loud)I constantly used it.
Its in mostly every post on my lot and other forums I make,
As well as my msn conversations.
When I say it,
I'm usually not actually "laughing out loud"
But it breaks awkward silences and is great for when your unsure of what to say.
Its become a trend that had spread through the whole of the net very quickly,
And it is used at very unnecessary times.
Usually I don't really think nothing of posting it.
And when other people read it..
They don't really count it as a word,
And it tends to get ignored.
And I can see from your other responses, That I am not the only one to think and do this.
And alough "Lol" or "L-o-l" is very popular online,
I doubt it will ever replace anything in the actual English language.
Although some teens have been speaking it out load to replace actually laughing out loud by saying "lol" or "L-o-l" I doubt everyone will start to do it cos I certainly won't.
I mean I'm trying my best to be a good member but I'm finding it really hard.
I need some mylot friends who will reply to my discussions
and post good ones of their own.
Please add me if you will.
I feel really unhappy because I can't find anyone who feels as strongly about this as me

dude hey you dont have to reply anymore if your gonna insult my post, geeze im not american its really hard fo me to communicate in english but i am trying. i can speak your language but can you speak my native language? no, so yeah dont reply if you dont feel my post is "intelectual enough" geeze!

I'm in no way trying to be mean.
I'm using it as an example of how short posts are, and how hard it is to reply to them.
Sorry if you feel that way,

I know how you feel, my wife is a Filipina but she can at least put in the effort to make good posts on sites like these. I don't think Priceless was particularly saying that your posts are not "intelectual enough" and I think we English speaking citizens acknowledge the effort that people with English as a second language put in to write with meaning and sense, it is sometimes difficult to understand what is being said or meant but when you do put in the effort it is better than one word responses ...... lol - only joking.

First off just let you know you don't need to hit enter so many times mylot pays per word not how many spaces you have.How can you not find good discussions? There are allot more of them since mylot made the change I have found tons of them. It isn't even hard to look for them i haven't see to many dumb ones in the past 2 or 3 days. The LOL part of course it will never be in the english lanuage somebody would look crazy saying LOL instead of laughing. Laughter is something that just happens when you see or hear something funny there's only laughing out loud online.
The good discussions aren't hard to find and even if you have friends that still doesn't mean there gonna reply.

I didn't watch a documentary i live in america and never heard anybody say it and people would look at them like there insane if they did. I am in college and when people are drink they don't say that laughing is something that you just do. If somebody says LOL then they are either on the pc way to long and have no life or it wasn't funny and they were joking about it. If i am watching a funny movie i'm not just gonna yell LOL LOL LOL i'm gonna laugh you can't help but laugh when you see or here something funny. So I don't know what kind of documentary it was but being 20 and in college you pretty much hear everything that most people are saying and LOL is not one of them.

I don't do spaces for the money.
Its the way I type.
Its extremely hard to find descent ones if your on here for hours everyday.
You soon post in all of them..
And, Yes, In America, There was a documentary on about teen life and some of them do say it...

What qualifies as a good post differs per opinion.... I agree that disucssions that require more than a sentence rarely get responces but as is apparent, most people on here want fast stuff hoping to get their numbers up.
I pretty much stick to my friends list and nearly all added on my list have discussions that I find interesting. I go through their discussions until I have exhausted them then I go to their friends list.... There are interesting ones out here it does take a bit of searching on your part. Cheers!

i feel the same way as you do. some of the discussions are like what are u going to eat that isnt a discussion that is people trying to get money as fast as they can i dont post discussions because of the short answers that arnt even relavint the the discussion.

Umh.... actually I'm new here and I don;t have any courage to start any discusion since my English is bad. BUt I think because so many spam discusion. I need around 10-15 minutes to open one discusion with my slow connection. And I hate if it is spam. T____T
I try my best to answering some discusion because I like to share my opinion. ^^ I will not post spam because I hate it. ^^ I know and understand your feeling.
I ned 30 minutes total to read and reply. So is useles if I only write simple word. Maybe they do spaming because they able to write it fast and they connection speed is fast. I don;t know..

I can't make long write, except in Indonesian language :P but I'll try not to post tpo short so other ppl not think that I am as a spammer ^^

You are certainly not the only person to be disillusioned by the many poor discussions or the inane responses, but the situation is gradually improving. I have spent long periods sifting through all the nonsense to find a worthy discussion in the past, whereas now there are a few more good ones and less poor ones.
The guidelines of Mylot have made great headway so far, so persevere a little longer and see how things develop.

I am like you I do find it hard to find a good discussion to resond to or comment on. I just keep on looking an I look at my friends new discussions. and if I can give a qualitive imput ot it then I do, If I cant I just skip it. doing this my daily responses have gone down but my money has gone up, go figure. all that means is that I dont have to type as much to make the same amount of money

that was a hell of a response for question about the acronym lol. I have to admit that I sometimes look for spammy discussions because I don't feel like thinking. but for the most part, the discussions here suck...If you have something good to talk about then I'm in. I respond to a lot of my friend's discussions before I move to general discussions

I don't think that all of the discussions are spam. You just need to pick and choose based on things that interest you. I have noticed since the pay structure and rules changed this weekend that things have gotten ALOT better around here. I would just fill your interest page with things you enjoy, or do searches for topics you enjoy and stick to those. I find alot of things interesting and I have diverse hobbies, so I'm always able to find things to talk about here. I guess it just depends on what you're into and what kind of person you are. If it doesn't make you happy, find something new to do?! Cheers, and best of luck! :O)

i agree with you, i also find it hard to find those meaningful discussions that require thought provoking responses and emotional opinions. But it has been better in my opinion over the last few days. i just look at my friends list and then my friends friends lists for something worthwhile to respond to. i will add you as my fiend, and if you accept we will have some interesting stories to share im sure : )

Yea, I know what you meen. thats why I try and find the good discussions to reply to everyso often. I will sometimes just go through the no-replies list, and go to like page 50 or something around there, and just start looking for a good topic to reply to and just keep going farther and farther back, answering as many as I can, and only those that make sense, and dont seem like spam to me.

I'm still new at mylot but this drives me batty OR entertains me randomly. I'm a member at another site where the top 30 topics cycle fairly fast. I would say about 70% of the topics created each day are just boredom topics...some people even admit they are just making a thread because they are bored (I have to admit I am guilty of that a few times!).
And on the whole lol thing - I generally don't use lol (more rofl, lmao and omg) and I know I've been spending too much time on the net when I go to SAY rofl out loud! (Yes I have come pretty close!)

I felt that way for a long time too. Then I filled out my interests and it got better. And I also spent time looking for decent topics. I will add you as a friend as well, I try and start topics that are applicable to what's happening. (Since it's the Holidays a couple of Christmas topics, of course.)
But I understand. It's difficult to respond to topics that don't seem to have any real substance. I understand as well that people around the world want to utilize this site but maybe you should read a lot of good, meaningful posts before posting on here. It will help your English and also help you see what a good thread or post is.

I dont like alot of the new topics either. I find myself doing the same as you answering the dumb ones and trying to make the best of them. I will look at your profile and see what topics you have and if I know anything about them or have an opnion about them I will answer.

yeah it's taking longer and longer to find something to respond to thats new also evrybody comes here and starts with the same question.....can you really make money here? Maybe it will get better I try not to spend allot of time here.But I like to see the questions that are fun.

I too have started discussions that get no reply.
I said it before and I'll say it again, it's all due to the format of this board.
If the subjects were in catagories inside of these foolish tag words people could find interesting topics more easily.
