WELL I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO STOP ALL LAYAWAYS after CHRISTMAS TIME, ALSO THAT THEY ARE NOW DONTATING MONEY TO THE GAY AND LESBIAN FOUNDATION INSTEAD OF THE CHILDREN HOSPITAL FUNDS. I KNOW FROM SOMEONE WHO WORKS THERE , WHAT DO U THINK OF THIS?

Walmart has always had a limit on their layways. They stop layways for a certian period before chirstmas and after every year. Walmart gives to all kinds of charities, mainly local ones. I bet that if they are donating to gay & lesbian charities it is for a good cause and they are also giving money away to many many other charities and schools in your area as well. They do a major childrens hospital fund raiser every year (you buy a paper balloon and put your name in it for $1)and I doubt they would stop doing that.

I guess that means you don't use it! I just know what it is because when my ex-husband was in the military a lot of the wives who couldn't budget would use it.

At the end of the day at least their donating somewhere. Most businesses usually have many charities they'll align themselves too.

Is this in Walmarts worldwide, or just in one store? Because I would find that hard to believe.

No problem with ending layaway, think it's a good idea actually. The financial donation changing from a group that needs medical help to a lobbying organization is pathetic though.

I hope that not true. Gay and Lesbian foundation instead of the children hospital? I hope they come to realized that their decision is not right. Maybe it just a rumor though. Wal mart is a huge store, Im sure they wont do anything to lose their sales.

I have been at walmart five years, and in our area they are not capping off peoples rate of pay. In fact they pay us very good. As far as the gay thing, I dont approve of people doing that kind of thing, personally, but they are human beings, they do shop at walmart and they do contribute to my pay day.

I live in Ms and They said it on our news Friday, no more layways. I think that stinks, I put layways on alot and they are really the only store that does it anymore. I guess as long as they are donating money, but I still think it is better to donate to the children, because most of them are sick and really need it.

Walmart is taking their lay aways away on nov. 19. If you have any lay aways at walmart by then, then they want you to have it out and paid for by dec. 8. At least that is what was said on the news, and I live in Arkansas where walmart got started. Yes I also heard about them helping out the gays and lesbians. I just don't get how they can say that the gays and lesbians are the ones that shop with them the most. If that is what they really think, then I am sorry but they are sadly mistaken. My best friend is gay and he hates shopping at walmart. All of his gay buddies hate walmart too. I just don't get why walmart would make such a dumb move. Like someone else said, I guess they will be adding a rainbow to the smiley face huh?
That is crazy if they are taking the money they donate to sick children and giving it to the gay and lesbians, for what? I know that they treat their employees like crap, because my husband used to work for them and he hated it. They are going to lose so many customers, and I don't feel bad for them one bit.

its probably just that store...actually walmart donates to tons of charities every year..lost to childrens miracle network...if places apply for grants from them they usually always get something... and the pay cap thing isnt that big of a deal..do you really think it would be fair for cart pushers to make 2o bucks and hour. my hubby works there and i think pay cap for his level is prolly like 20 bucks, but he is the shop manager for automotive....
