Where to stay in the Cameron Highlands

Hi folks, Hoping to go to the Cameron Highlands for Chinese New Year in Feb so need to book now. Which place do you think is better to stay; Tanah Rata or Brinchang? We have a car so access to public transport isn't an issue. Does anyone have a recommendation as to where to stay? Budget is quite reasonable so would like somewhere really relaxing, with a balcony would be ideal. Any must-dos while we're there? How many days would you suggest? Let me know what you think!
