Would you let your grade school son diet to make weight for a sport?

My sons are involved in both football and wrestling. While they have not had to do anything to "make weight" many of their friends have had to diet. I talking about laxatives and dieuretics. I feel this borders on abuse. Would you give these medications to your son so he could still weigh in at 100lbs?

it could be a bad start for the children- physically and emotionally. athletes are known to have eating disorders to make weight or perform better.

Are they overweight? If not, they should not be fooling around with these techniques; if they are, they should get a doctor's help. This leads to weight problems.
