Was it because they disobeyed or because they did not take responsibility?

Adam blamed Eve for giving him the apple and Eve blamed the serpent - Had they taken the responsibility for their own actions where would we be now?

Interesting thought... but even back then God was in control, and saw that this was going to happen to prove and show everyone that we have a choice between right and wrong. It is how we decide to choose to live our lives, is what will matter the most in the end. This was the start of our Freedom of choice.
