www.godaddy.com is a registrar, which usually charges around $8.95 per domain. I just got a domain from them, and I bet a company as big as theirs would be an honest one. =) Regarding below $7 domains, I think nobody does that unless you get a bulk domain registration. If you want, you can have subdomains, and they are for free. Try visiting www.dyndns.com
