Honey I'm an Army wife. Let me dispell two myths for you 1) it doesn't get easier with each deployment you just get into the swing of things quicker and 2) as long as your husband is military you will never really know for sure what's going to happen from one day to the next. Go with the flow. Don't stress about it. Make sure you have your power of attorney (from him), a copy of his will (sounds morbid but trust me it is actually reassuring in the long run b/c you will work under the belief that everything is taken care of), and a gift certificate to a spa (so that if or when he deployes you can go to the spa the day after he leaves... it will take your mind off of it when you'll need it most).

Well they finally said that he IS slotted to go in Jan. So i guess they cant really take his slot and give it to anyone else...??? I just hope that our lil girl doesnt have a hard time. I will try and make it easy on her but shes only 3 and she has a routine of seeing daddy for lunch and after 5p... That spa thing sounds great

I am not married to a Marine but my father retired from the Marine Corps after twenty years of service. My mom went through a lot of the same issues you are going through now. It was hard for her to because she did not like change and she had two small children. Don't feel alone! There are lots of other ladies out there going through the same thing you are. Just remember that part of the reason they are able to be the few, the proud, the Marines is because there is a Marine wife "keeping her powder dry" at home. Blessings to you and thanks to you and your husband for your service to our country.

Well, I am a newer Navy wife, and for us things just keep getting puched back, and then my husband's boss decided he should take some practice cruises on another ship while their's is being built. So I thought I would have him till like March, and then it's like, sorry but no. But, from all my reading and from my experiences while we were dated, I've just learned to shrug it off and keep going. The way I figure, the percentage of time I get to spend with this wonderful man more than makes up for the time I don't.
I have a posting called "Any Military Families", if you could all post to it also, I would appreciate it!

Well i know they are very indecesive when it comes to decission for our men. Mine is in Iraq and I have no idea when he'll be home cause i know there gonna change it no matter what. It drives me insane. As long as he comes back safe its all that matters
