it being the Word of god for your life, and helping show us what to expect in the end times? **I take the Bible to heart, and have read it many times. I know it is a vital part of my life, how I should live, and who to Trust in my time of need. As in Belief for the end times, I Love the book of Revelations and know it is the key to what is going on in this world today and what we aa a world should be looking for in Jesus's second coming.

Going thru life without God's handbook would be like trying to put a kid's toy together without directions. I just couldn't do it. It's sad that so many people don't realize what a blessing reading the Bible can be. Any time I get upset I can open my Bible and find words that make me feel better. The book of Revelation is fantastic. I've worked through it with 3 different pastors in my life, and every study I've done has opened up new meanings. The way I read it, Jesus could return any time, because the more of the corrupt things that John said were going to happen in end times are showing up every day.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but anything that can be considered history can be looked upon today and interpreted as a sign. It is too easy to take an event today and say that it was predicted. Too many ways to interpret the words of yesterday.

Great points here. I agree Revelations can teach us a lot about what to look for for sure in the end times, and why it is important to be ready.

Oh how I agree with you there. And Psalms is a Great Book. Especially if you are fond of stuff like Poetry. I wish so much Christmas could go back to the basics it was founded on and not so much the legalism.

Most certainly I believe the Bible is true. (Check out my reply to "Is the Bible really true?" posted by jay20ab, respo0nse number 2). There are many infallible proofs of the truth and reliability of the Bible. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to direct me in my life. As it says in 2 Timothy 3:16 the Word shows me what is right, what is wrong, how to get right and how to stay right. Psalms tells me that the Word is a light for my path and I have proven this to be true as I have been directed by the Word throughout 48 years of trusting Christ as my Saviour. The Word of God is precious!

Hello KrauseHome, I too take the Bible very seriously and allow it to reach my heart because I believe it to be the Word of God Almighty. I also love the book of Revelation because it is the final fulfillment of the prophecies. It tells us how God dealt with those in ancient times and how it compares to modern day. We are living in the very last days of this wicked world. Soon Jesus will come as King of Kings and clean up this world forever. I personally look forward to that time. I am in the process of a indept study of the book of Revelation at present. It is very much a book that should stimulate us all to do our very best so as to be found doing what is right when Jesus comes to judge the good and the bad. I look forward to hearing from you again and I look forward to reading your posts. Take care, Jadona2006

Betheltemple, I agree with what you say. The Bible is actually a love letter from God to each person, and we can insert our own name when He makes promises. While His eternal plan of salvation does save us from hell, His prime purpose is so that we can be WITH HIM eternally in heaven, and I look forward to that day.

This is coming from a self proclaimed agnostic so take it how you want. Also, I am not trying to ignite a religious online war. I think the Bible is a good story. I think it was meant to lead people in the right direction and some people took it literally as the end all, be all. My main argument without getting too lengthy is that nobody wrote it down until 1500 years after the story was told orally. Have you ever played that game where everyone sits in a circle and whispers to the next person "Sally has long hair and big blue eyes"? By the time you get to the tenth person the story is "Sally is a short, fat blue eyed crocodile". Extreme example, but true.

Wow. Interesting thoughts here. I have always wondered how others come to their way of thinking. I know I am a Christian who believes in the Bible as the word of God for today, but I have a personal experience in why I believe this. And we are all entitled to believe how we want too.

You "proved" it over and over again in your personal life? What about mine? Give me evidence that one single event in the Bible actually happened. I mean hard proof. Not "well it says blah, blah, blah..." Anyone can interpret whatever they want from a book that King James decided what to add to the story.

The Bible records the fall of Jericho, when the tremendous wall fell flat. (Joshua 6) Archaeological excavations by Ernst Sellin in 1907-09 and by Kenyon in 1950s have proven this happened exactly as the Biblical record, written about 1400BC. Saul's rustic palace-fortress of Gibeah north of Jerusalem, was identified by Edward Robinson, the pioneer Palestinian explorer and excavated by WF Albright in 1922 and 1933, and shed much light on King Saul's reign. His resort to occultism is illustrated by Hittite, Assyrian and Hurrian texts. The events recorded in 1 Samuel 9-31 around 1090 BC were proven to be correct by these excavations. The Siloam Inscription was discovered in 1880 and proved the details recorded in the Bible about Hezekiah's tunnel, which had caused many doubts. This was a 1777 foot long tunnel carved through rock about 700BC. That tunnel is now a tourist attraction and is exactly where the Bible recorded it as being. One proof? There are thousands! King James authorised the compilation of the books of the King James Bible. He did NOT write any of it, nor did he authorise any addition of any words to it. He had no need to. There is none so blind as those who will not see.

I believe the bible is the unfailable word of God, It is my daily bread and my basic instructions before leaving earth... it is the book of books that will be opened at judgment that all will be judged from. will we live it or let what will judge us collect dust.

Thankfully the truth of the Bible doesn't rely on what you think. YOU are entitled to think what you want, but your thought doesn't alter the fact that it IS the Word of God. Have you ever read it? Are you qualified to pass an opinion on it?

I believe the words the Bible, and I consider the Revelations as a summary of the battle between God and the devil and that it does not particularly state a particular time in history and some of it is in the future. I remember people saying Hitler was the antiChrist, and so was Stalin, and even the Pope It does show that things are going to be worse in the real end times, compared with the end times in general as being from Christs's ascension into Heaven until HIS return, and that they would make all the other persecutions plus the punishment for the wicked pale in comparison. In fact, I believe that in the former days of persecution the wicked did not get punished, after not all those Romans watching the Christians being torn apart by lions went home and eat at their villas or homes afterwards, but when the wicked do get punished in their lifetime, then we will know it is the truly last days.

I know that you should follow the bible but have strayed away from over the years. Life does lead you in different paths sometimes. I used to really believe in it when I was younger because I hated my life and that was the only thing that kept me going. I still believe in everything I was taught when I went to school. Not a big bible reader but guess should be. I do believe in all you say though.

I believe that the Bible was divinely inspired upon men to write - and upon men to choose which books should be contained therein considering all the manuscripts and epistles that they had gathered by the 4th century.... The Gospel, however, I believe is the Word of God.
