childcare - good for children?

I own a childcare center and have been open for over 4 years now. I realize that with more and more families requiring two incomes and more and more single parent families, the need for childcare is growing. Although I provide an excellent service (I think!) I wonder how good it is for our children to be in a childcare environment for 6, 8 or even more hours per day. Some children start in childcare from as early as 3 months old. Is this good for our children ?
