I just wanted to thank everyone for thier comments to my question about my teenage son. I could not believe the amount of responses I got...wow...However...I would feel amiss if I didn't expand a little on the story. You see my boyfriend has basically raised my son..since he was young. The biological father left...us. So he is not simply my boyfriend...he is by all rights..my son's father. I got some good responses...but some were a little harsh too. However...I guess that is all part of this site...you post you get honest and forthright answers. I think my boyfriend just wants him to earn some money...I don't think he is jealous...or anything like that....I appreciate everyone's input on this matter...but I just wanted everyone to know the facts. I now know that I am right...and I feel that his education is foremost and I will try and convey that to both of them...again thank you to everyone who responed. I can't possibly answer all of you individually as I had over 300 posts...
Sincerely,
Icequeen

Wow, so you got plenty of opinions! Stick with your son, show him you're there for him, no matter what, back up your son.

So, your 14 year old is working and earning money and you feel happy and satisfied? I do not know what to say. 14 years is too young to work, he is supposed to be studying. this is the age to study. By making your son study, you will be making his future more secure and strong. There is no big a wealth than education. It is just a matter of another 6-7 years. His feet will be firm on the ground with a solid education. He will be more confident to face the world.

Well right now..he isn't working. He does study and do well in school so that is not an issue. He wants to work too...to earn some money. I understand your point and have taken that into consideration...and if I see his marks change..then appropriate changes would have to be made.
