are some paintings really worth their price?..

we see paintings that are sold for millions of dollars..but some don't ever look so precious!..yet many people buy them..its even become a trade...why so?..

I guess art is in the eye of the beholder. Here in Canada our government purchased a large white canvas with a red circle in the middle. I think the price was around a million bux. for something I could have painted!
