Well yes, in the old days people used to kill and scheme for Gold.
In fact the whole conquest by the Spanish of South America was about looking for gold and the mythical city of El Dorado, which was supposed to be paved in gold. And in seeking this gold the spanish killed millions of native Americans either directly or through diseases they introduced.
And the Brits and later Americans did the same in North America - it was about gold rushes.

Funny you mention gold, how true it is that so many people have suffered because of the greed of a few. It doesn't matter what the medium is whether its money, oil, gold or even food. We humans have got a real imbalance going on. Until we are able to balance out ourselves then and only then will we be able to rise above these negative influences.
