are pit bulls mean dogs by nature? i personally think that its the way you raise and train a dog. it isnt these dogs' fault that they are bred and trained to fight and kill. lots of pit lovers everywhere are unable to own them because of the retards wanna make an easy dollar. what do you think?

it is all how they are raised. i had a pit bull for over 14 years and she was the biggest baby in the world. dont get me wrong she was a protector but she never bit anyone or anything like that. she was very well behaved. but she let you know if you were not welcomed or if you went near anyone of the children and if she thought that you were hurting anyone.

In my opinion pitbulls should not be banned. My boyfriend and I own a lab mix (we think he could be mixed with a pitbull but we're not sure) and he's the sweetest little guy :). A lot of pit owners allow encourage their pits to become aggresive and this is where I think the problems come in.

A dog you raise - and if you raise it with love than iot will be a loving dog. I think the main concern is the way they breed the dogs, sometimes they try to breed them to hard wich can result in difficulties. But if u know the dog is coming froma good certified breeder - than go for it!

I don't care for it one bit.I think it is the people who do it to them.Hubby's dad had many while he was little and he would rough house with them and they just played back, never attacking him.It was so sad we went to the pound and wanted to rescue a pit bull mix and was told we couldn't because he was going to be put to sleep. We were all just devastated at that.

I have one thats been crossed with a great dane and I was told that it helped the bloodline b/c it breeds out the meanness....these dogs were breed to fight and kill but if they are exposed to love and not hate, I think in some cases it won't matter but they were breed to be mean is why people have banned the breed.

They weren't bred to be mean. They were bred to fight other dogs, not humans. They were actually bred to be the most human-friendly dog there is.

I agree with you. I don't think it has anything to do with the breed.

I do not think pitbulss are mean by nature. They are like any other animal. It depends on how they are raised. So, no I don't banning pitbulls with solve any situation. We need to get people informed about raising pitbulls. Make sure they know their responsiblity for their animal and responsiblity they have towards other people that come around their pitbull.

I have 5 pitbull in my yard and they are the sweetest dogs. They were actually train to attack other pitbull but to respect humans. they only attack if they are told to. Most times they are fun.

I don't think that these dogs can be trained to be nice. I believe that all the other breeds can.

Thats ridiculous they aren’t that aggressive, protective but what dog isn’t protective of its owners. I had a pit bull once and it was the smartest dog that I have EVER had, and I’ve had a lot of dogs in my life, so no, pit bulls should not be banned for any reason!!
