Home brew want to mix in fermenter stout and lager or pail ale

I brew my own beer I use about 4 Brewery makes and really enjoy what I end up with. Now since I have been following the kits directions and only single mixes. L like Black and tan I mix a Malt Shovel brew "oatmeal stout" and a "East Indian Pale ale" (after brewing and bottling complete. What I was thinking why not try and mix the two in the fermenter first up???? Has any one tryed this and how did it come out..
