Have you seen the different christmas trees available in tghe shops? I don't like the new styles...bright pink and purple trees, upside down trees. I prefer the traditional ones that are green and the normal way up, or a real tree if you can get it.
Have you seen the new trees? Do you like them? Do you have one?

Traditionally, the Christmas tree was upside down until they decided that there was too much of a fire hazzard (still used candles to light up a tree back then).

WOW actually I knew this but didnt remember. What an interesting point. I personally dont like the upside down trees or the fact that they come in diff colours. I prefer the real thing. Yes it is messy but I love it. We have speciallity farms here that grow them specially for xmas.

No I have not seen them. They sound awful.Once again people are wrecking the traditions. I want nothing to do with it.

As long as people are celebrating the Christmas spirit, I don't think it really matters what color the tree is. I personally prefer green but have had a white tree in the past too.

They sound really terrible mystikel and I can only wonder what oddball came up with such a screwy idea for Christmas trees. I did go looking for them today, so I had an idea what you were talking about, but couldn't find any. Maybe that was a blessing in disguise actually, because they do sound really ghastly.
We have a live tree every year - get it in a pot and then after the season is over donate it to the local school. :)

I have seen black trees, silver ones, all sorts! I think it's down to personal preference though. Just because there is a huge range in the shops it doesn't mean you have to buy them. There will be people out there who like the weird and wonderful and will buy these things. You have probably noticed that there are still more normal, green trees than anything else so I wouldn't worry! I personally like a nice traditional tree with red and gold decorations, but where anywhere does it say it has to be like that? Just because people used to do it like that, doesn't mean it has to stay like that.

I couldn't agree with you more. The upside down trees just seem weird to me. None of the new ones seem holiday related at all. I prefer to stick with the traditional trees, definitely.

This is the first I've heard of an upside down tree.It looks weird to me.I think I prefer the traditional right way up tree.I have a fake tree that I have had for years.I'm not planning on changing it anytime soon. That tree holds alot of memories of christmas's past.

I saw a beautiful lilac coloured one in a shop window, not for sale unfortunately, there own decorated tree, absolutely beautiful, I would have bought it right there and then if it had been for sale. And it was just a nice size, not a big one....:( would have looked nice in my place.

The new upside-down tree thing started when some department store displayed them that way to save floor space. I think it's pretty silly, but to each his own.
