I use Avast Antivirus which is free for home users. It is quite a decent antivirus program and does its and value for free. Sometimes I feel it is better than the paid antivirus programs. The updates are prompt, sometimes daily. The best part of it is its alert in which a voice over tells you about a virus found. It has cool interface and skin, which is interchangeable. But it is free only for the home users, for business users they have some charges. I would definitely recommend this antivirus for all, if you feel you don’t want to go for paid antivirus programs.

Norton is the best for finding all the viruses in ur PC .. But the disadvantage of NAV is that you'd need a new system to run it on , coz it hogs system resources and makes your computer slow..
Alternative ones are AVG(very fast, but has a very limited database).. McAfee also has a good name ..
I'd suggest NOD32; Really easy on the system and has a very good virus definiton database .. I use NOD32 and they update the virus definitions almost daily .. I strongly recommend NOD32 for AntiVirus and Outpost Firewall combination ... It rocks !
