Does anyone believe they were born with having a killer instinct? Or was it due from their upbringing?
What are your thoughts?

I would say both. Yes, genectically it is built into them, however growing-up also impacts the way they think. They learn their values and interests from their experiences growing-up. I think their parents, friends, teachers, family all influence their thought.

I believe they are born with some sort of chemical imbalance, something's just not right. Maybe something that their parents arent aware of or something they dont show signs of. I think saying its about the way they were brought up is an excuse. I cant honestly believe that all the serial killers around they were all brought up in a bad way. Besides if they came out this twisted wouldnt that mean their parents were just as twisted if not worse?

I think its a combination of many factors
First off, there is something wrong with the way a killers brain is wired.
The upbringing and environment my trigger something in that wiring to make them start killing.
But These people enjoy what they do and that where the crazy come in.

One important factor that should be known about serial killers is that they are humans. Many people forget that these people have feelings, thoughts and anger as every human being. There are many different opinions on why people become serial killers. Most thought concern the killers childhood and it is always believed that they where brought up wrong in some kind of way.
Alfred Adler has his famous theory about how the birth order affects a child's personality. In that theory it is stated that the firstborn child can become authoritarian and get the feel of power. The first-born is therefore the one that may end up as a problem child, a phobic, a criminal, a pervert or a drunkard. Charles Manson is a typical example of this. He was the first-born child and he developed a need to control. Later on in his life he got good at manipulating people and he started a sect called the "Family". This sect had at one point over 100 members, which Manson more or less controlled.

1. Being an optmist, noone can ever be born such. It neen't necessarily be due to their upbringing also. Perhaps, incidents in their life would've been such that at some point, they would have been led to it by some odd events.
2. A pessimist would not agree. He/She would enforce on the upbringing of the indivudual and try to equate it to their parents/heredity as the true cause.
3. A reality thinker would try to analyse the good qualities of the serial killer and try to find out the incidents which led him/her to the first crime. Considering the history of the indivudual, he/she would find out the real cause of his/her behaviour.
This is my view on it. Definitely, there can be a number of thoughtful views on this. Goodday friend

There are no people with killer instinct. No one is born killer, I can't think that you, looking at a baby, you could kill him/her thinking that he/she is destined to become a killer. No one is murderer by nature. The problem is the upbringing. To me the people who should pay when their son/daughter kills someone are his/her parents. In Italy, the country where I live, there is a disgusting killer who is in jail now. Well, his parents tried to defend him when he killed a girl during a party. To me they are not parents, they are disgusting monsters, they are guilty to have grown such a killer, and to me they should stay in jail, near their beloved son.
If my son raped or killed a girl I'd feel a failure, I'd obliterate the memory of him from my heart, I'd never defend him.

I don't think that any babies are born evil or with killer instincts it all seems of be a product of society and parents.
If parentas treat a child roughly and wth malice a child will learn to react that way especially if it is born with mental problems as well like detachment dissorder.
If that same child were born into a loving caring a supportive family then it may have a better chance of learning the correct way to cope with life and all of its obstacles.
