Is ADD/ ADHD really a personality disorder or is it actually a gift?

Thats an interesting thought really....it is in fact a disorder mind you but I wonder if there is a way to control it or direct it and turn it into a gift of sorts..

I have browsed through some websites that considers ADD/ADHD more of a gift than a disorder. It is actually a personality type of a portion of the world's population. I believe that it has a positive and productive side that should be fully tapped.

well sometimes it is a gift other times it is not, having two children one with add and one with adhd. They are very smart children in my eyes. It is just very hard for them to get thier thoughts done. They have so much going on in thier heads so i think that sometimes yes it can be a gift.
