'Road Roko' means 'block the roads and stop the traffic', and 'Rail Roko' means 'block the railway lines and stop the trains'. This is what we do in India to draw the attention of the govenment to any issue that is important to us. If this will not have the effect we desire on the government we have a bigger weapon called 'Bharat Bandh', which means a 'total shutdown of India'. All this ofcourse causes untold misery to others and results in tons of money and man-days lost.
Are such means employed in other countries to make the governments listen to people's problems?
