I think www (world wide web) is the best thing existing on earth...a planetary web...that connects every man on earth! Think that United States formed in 1957 the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) within the Department of Defense (DoD) to establish US lead in science and technology applicable to the military. This was in response of the launch of the Sputnik from USSR. Then ARPA was renamed to Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (or DARPA). In 1969 ARPANET was born! In 1973 began development of TCP/IP and in 1974 the term Internet was born! In 1983 every machine connected to ARPANET began to use TCP/IP and...we know all the rest of the story! I think that we need internet today...it's very useful for everyday actions!

I think the WWW is good for regular commercialized or personal content. A lot of things can not be legally hosted on the WWW, and need to be found in IRC (Internet Relay Chat) or through Torrents. One of the biggest problems with the WWW is spam, there are tens of thousands of people scanning pages as we speak to harvest your email and any other personal info you happen to post somewhere, even just a blog. If you post it, chances are someone somewhere can find it, and use it to send you emails (as the mild end of things) or even steal your identity. We'll all be safer when identity confirmation is required for you to get online... but there will also be ways around any new technology, so most likely, that will never happen.
