Does we have models nowadays?

Nowadays we see at TV lots of successfull personalities,that have money and celebrity,and we are tempted to choose that people for models(especially the teenagers).But I saw a couple of months ago a famous women,the wife of an important football player saying that she has never read a book.I was shocked when I heard this,but soon I discovered that this kind of people live in a world when the errors don't mean grammar errors or confounding important writters,but non matching the colour of the purse with the shoes,that is really a big mistake! What do you think?
