My cat is pregnant and the babies will be born in approx. 40 days? Unfortunately the cat hates our dog and the dog hates our cat. Do you have any suggestions where the cat can deliver her babies?

The cat will be looking for a spot far away from the dog. If they are both inside, you may have a bit of a problem. Let her find it, just keep an eye on where she goes. The like closets, if you can somewhat prepare your closets by putting plastic under some clean rags in a box, she may choose that. Just make sure the dog can't bother her there.

kittens - kittens
How about a nice corner of your closet? It is dark, hopefully you can keep the dog out of there and it will be a warm place for her to nurse her babies

She will choose the best place for her to deliver on her own. My cat was pacing the floor when we got home. Her water broke while my daughter was holding her. Fortunately we were home when she was about to give birth and took her upstairs to the girls' room. She gave birth on some thick blankets. She later moved them to a quiet spot in my closet.

One of my cats had her kittens in my sock drawer. Another had her kittens in my bedroom in a box I made up for her. Yet another found a box that was very hard to get into and out of in my computer room, so I blocked off my computer room for a while and let them loose.

Babies! I love pet babies. You can bring your cat to the vet, find when she's due and perhaps she can give birth there. Or you can let her give birth at your home. When my sisters cat was pregnant, she kept on going to one place in our house - under the sofa. When we noticed that we places a small box there where she can give birth. One morning she just woke us up and showed us her litter. Smart, sweet cat :)

The cat will have definately decided by now where to have her kttens if she is disturbed by the dog she will shift them. You need to be able to isolate her away from the dog. They do have a habit within a few days of shifting them to another place if you haven't cleaned the nest of the afterbirth and that. I have had a few cats give birth so have had them do that if I haven't been quick enough to clean. They also need to stay warm and quiet away from to many peple as well.
