I think that is a bit too early - BUT it all depends on the child. You know better than anyone how much sleep she needs. Some children need much more sleep than others. My sister is 11 and goes to bed at 9-9:30pm and is fine when she wakes up at 7:30am - BUT my cousin is 10 and she goes to bed at 8pm and still has trouble waking up at 8am. Children need alot of activity during the day to assure a good nights sleep. If you are going to change her routine do it slowly - 30 minute intervals - but I'm sure you know that already! lol.. Just my thoughts!

Yes, you are sending her too early according to Science. It is told in Physical Education that 3 to 3 1/2 hours before sleep we have to take our food at all times including night times. As there are two reasons:
1. The food will become energy only after 3 hours. When we are sleeping this energy will get converted into fat. And might give raise to other complications.
2. After the sunset the digestion power gets reduced not only in her but in all human beings. So, its better to have food within 7:30pm.
And if you are feeding your child only by 7pm then she should sleep only by 10pm. But she can be put on her bed by 9pm as she is very small and would have got used to sleep at 7:30pm. And that two hours she can study or play or go for a walk.
But its enough if she has a sound sleep from 10pm to 6am.

I allow my 10 year old son to stay up until 9:00 this seems to work for him, come that time he usually goes right to sleep and when its time for him to get up in the morning a lot of times he gets right up on his own, the rest of the time I just have to say his name and he wakes right up. If you consider allowing her to stay up a little later I would just gradually increase how long she can stay up, say starting with a half hour later, you will know if she isnt getting enough sleep if she starts having trouble getting up in the morning or gets crabby etc. if letting her stay up a little later you can always put the bedtime back to the regular bedtime.

That does seem a bit too early. I would say the earliest would be 8:30. 9-9:30 is probably a better suited time, but it depends on your child. I would base the time on what she can handle. For exmaple, my 7 yr old can go to bed at 9:30pm and get up at 7:45 for school no problem, but we usually put him to bed at 8:30 on a school night.

my children go to bed at nine on school nights and they get to go to bed later on the weekends but on the days they have school they get up just fine but everyone is different try bumping up her time a bit and see how she does. I don't think it would hurt just to try.

I have a friend who has 4 kids. When she's out of town, I usually take care of her kids. They normally sleep at 8:30-9:00pm. This gives them time to do their homeworks and do a little stuff they want to do. By 9:00pm, it's lights off already.

My daughter usually goes to bed around 9:00. She is 11, but has been going to bed at this time for several years now. It might depend on how early she has to get up and how much sleep she needs.

My son who is five, goes to bed at 8:30pm on school night's, on Friday and Saturday, I let him stay up as late as he want's, which is usually at 9:00 lol. He wakes up at 7:00am Monday through Friday, and again on Saturday and Sunday whenever he want's to.

I think 8.30 would be a good time and lights out by around 9pm or 9.20pm. It is important for children to have a full night sleep. However as they get older and see their friends staying up later and what not they tend to argue with these kind of issues. For non school days like friday night and saturday let them stay up a little longer.
