I think the sugar in chocolate is contributing to obesity. If you stick to 70% cocoa chocolate, there are health benefits to consuming it. It's more bitter than all the brand name, lower quality chocolate bars usually found at the checkout in grocery stores or convenience stores. I admit that I used to eat a KitKat today, before curbing my own sugar addiction. I lost weight, and am keeping it off by only eating good quality chocolate in small quantities once in a rare while now.

Chocolate could be a cause of obesity, if you include all chocolate flavoured foods. I know people who love chocolate flavoured foods and they are fat. But if you mean just chocolates, I feel it would be difficult to get fat on chocolates alone, but I have no doubt there must be people who have managed it!

no chocolates doesn't lead to obesity, the main cause of obesity is over eating and eating lots of oil foods.
