What type do you have? Iron or B vitamin induced? I had iron-induced anemia. Hopefully it is fixed now. What tests have you had done? I had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy, lots of blood tests and also will be having a camera endoscopy soon. So far they haven't found anything. Probably mine is due to menstration.

I suffer from iron-deficiency, as well as folate-deficiency anemia. My gastroenterologist feels that it may be a result of celiac disease. As a result, I have been gluten-free for the past 4 months, with debatable improvements. I have also had an endoscopy, which revealed a small ulcer in my stomach. That led to a blood test for h.pylori--which came back positive. I'm now on the treatment for that. As soon as I finish treatment, I have to schedule a colonoscopy. Fun fun fun. I'm just so tired of being exhausted all the time. It's really hard for my family to understand that I'm just too tired to do most things. The only outward symptom of the anemia (for me) is paleness.

Anemia really is a drag. I think that I thought I was cured. But I guess that I do need some type of supplementation (iron). So I will go back to taking my vitamin plus iron supplement. Good luck! I hope you can find the root of the problem.

Mine is due to menstruation as well. It helped me a lot to star taking contraceptive pills, because I menstruated every 24 days, and for 7 days long. Now I'm much more regular. Anyway, I'm taking vitamin B everyday. Mi iron is fine. I had a lot of blood tests but they didn't find anything, so I'll just have to wait and see if a hormonal change or something makes it go away magically. But it doesn't bother me that much, I'm just a little bit more tired than other people, that's all.

Mine was due to menstruation when I was young and I was only anemic certain times of the month. But later on, it was due to tumors in my uterus and it was continuous. Have you had that checked?

I have Pernicious anemia. My body kills any B12 it finds. Went I was diagnosed with it I was actually missing over 60% of the blood in my body and was a day off a coma, and had to have two bags of blood put into me. For the first year, I had to have a monthly B12 shot, but now I simply take 1500 mcg of B12 daily in pill form. The last time I had my blood checked my B12 levels were a tiny bit low, but the Dr. said nothing to worry about. I hope all your tests come back negativity and you are feeling better in no time. Anemia, be it from iron or B12, can often be fixed by dietary changes; however, sometimes it means taking vitamins for the rest of your life to keep it under control.

My iron and b12 levels are low, my iron is non existent, and my b12 is semi low. They are doing all these tests to find any abnormal bleeding. I had a colonoscopy done as I do have colitis, and also on the depo shot to stop my heavy periods. I also have blood work done rather often to check the levels as mine are dangerously low. Are you on any type of birth control?
