I have never been to Italia but what I have seen on television shows it to be a beautiful country. When I was a little girl an Italian man and woman shopped at my parents store and I loved them dearly. I have had a special place in my heart for Italian people since then. Someday I would love to visit Italia.

I did spend a week in Italy a long time ago, and took a trip around Venice along with the usual gondola trip and so forth. The one thing that I remember most is being shown the water mark on St Marks caused by the high tide, then a few months later I saw the same scene on television with the water covering the area.
I cannot claim to know much about Italy after a single week in Venice, but I enjoyed what I saw and found the italian people to be very friendly.

Glorius Italy, the link between the Middle Ages and Modern day, according to some historians. I would love to go to Italy and see the marvels of the past....the collesium, the Apian Way, Venice, Florence, Milan, Vesuvius, Pompeii, etc. etc. I feel that it would almost required a lifetime to see all the beauties of Italy past and present. Some of the greatest artists of all time have come from Italy whether it be in paintings, sculptures, engineering, and culture in general.
However, in order to see and enjoy Italy it would take more than a month of Sundays to see everything from the Alps to the toe of the boot. While I'm getting on in age I still have hopes that perhaps sometime soon I will be able to enjoy the majesty of Italy if only for a couple of days in each of the major cities and areas....like the Tuscany Valley.
