Most people hate discussing politics, ideas and philosophies. But that doesn't stop them from doing it now does it? To answer Relics' questions, I don't think getting into the political ring is a choice as much as it is a calling. Regardless from which side of the spectrum you come from, you start by doing what you feel is best for those you represent, and God help you if you don't. I've heard it before, and I can't place where, but I've heard the saying that the nobility (or in our case, the politicians) is there to serve and protect the people, not the other way around. Unfortunately, too often it does happen the other way around and that is shameful. I’ve gotten a bit off track here, sorry, I’m an idealist and this is the “bleeding heart” side of me. The real reason that you don’t see sweeping change year after year, election after election is because the person you elect isn’t the only person weighing in on any given decision. There are 435 members in the US House alone, another 100 in the Senate, and every bill has to go through a rigorous process (too long to list here) involving both portions of the Congress before it gets to the president or governor to be signed into law. By the time a bill goes through all that it can go in looking great and come out looking like it went through a meat grinder and die in a floor vote. So, affecting change isn’t easy and it certainly doesn’t come all at once, especially when there are so many people involved in the process of affecting said change. Although, we the people have the right to petition our leaders to push those changes along, be it by calling or writing your congressional leader or by addressing the House as a whole, it doesn’t matter how you do it as long as you do. Just some food for thought I suppose.

Well i sometimes dream of being someone like a minister who is responsible for his department. Whenever i come across something creepy anywhere i wish if i would have had the ability to do it right. I thought that yes i can go into the politics one day but then u need a great party support to win any election (at least in INDIA) and then i feel that there no party which is good enough that i can join and i fear i wont be able to win as a individual candidate.
