any atheists here? i am one myself... and i wanna meet some atehists here...wat made u be an atheist?

One atheist here (and one from Brazil).
I became an atheist after a lot of tought, after learning more, reading more. It is a long history to write here, but I can sum it on the following, the more I read and learned more my disbelief in god grew. Eventually I made contact with atheist web sites and discovered my "philosophy" of life. (in quotes for the lack of a better word).

Yes, what jricbt said. Long story for me, too. Raised Baptist. Never really bought into the idea and irritated my Sunday School teachers with questions they couldn't answer. Once made a preacher nearly run out of my hospital room with my questions, too. LOL. Finally, in persuit of trying to strengthen my "faith," I finally came to terms with my Disbelief. I read both religious and atheist material. In the end, my mind accepts the logic of atheism over the irrationality of religion. Actually, it was a painful journey since I did not want to abandon the culture in which I was reaised. However, now as a card-carrying member of American Atheists, I am comfortable and content.

I am an athiest. I do not believe in religion at all. I find that my opinion seems to offend some people. Im glad there is someone else on here that is with me.

I'm an Atheist. I was raised to be Baptist but church always felt wrong to me and I came to the conclusion on my own that god does now exist. At least not the way people claim. I mean, if there was this almighty, kind, forgiving god out there why is there so much bad in the world. If he loved every one of us why does he allow so much suffering? My pastor wouldn't answer these questions because there is no answer. God does not exist and people made up god to explain things that happen, its just not feasible for some ultimate being to exist.

i am but i became atheist after i learned of a scandal at my old church.
i was 10, and decided then i was not religious anymore.
