Has anyone traveled on a severe budget, such as backpacking through Europe and staying in hostels, camping out, etc.? I don't want to wait to start seeing the world, but I'm so broke!

if you are an american citizen, lucky for you because, there's no need for you to get a visa and go to europe and asia without the hassle of getting a visa and going to the embassy for application.you can just pack your things and hop to a plane.i can't do that.in the philippines, whenever i want to go outside of southeast asia,i have to secure a visa and apply at the their embassy.it's really painstaking because only a handful can be approved and so many were denied.anyway, all you can do is find a decent job and save 45% of your earninngs monthly so that you can buy ticket and have at least pocket money to spare for your food/transpo.also,find an agency where they can give you a thrift package tour.

You might want to check out The Lost Girls blog. They are a group of three young women currently travelling around the world on a very tight budget. They write about the places they visit, but they also explain how they do it, where to stay, how to get a part-time job in some of the countries etc. It's got a lot of information.
