The death penalty

Should the death penalty should be abolished? After all, the Bible DOES say "Thou Shalt Not Kill" and "revenge is mine, saith the Lord" The death penalty IS murder. What are your opinions?

we are common people and created by god we have no right to kill, in name of penality so it should be abolished
